The brief was to determine whether the website of Allerdale Borough Council conformed with best practise in website design in line with the Local Authority Website Guidance. User testing demonstrated that the website did not meet best practise. A number of design recommendations were subsequently implemented, and a poll conducted by the council found that 100% respondents thought the new design was better than the original.
